Samarium-Cobalt magnets

Samarium-Cobalt (SmCo) magnet is a type of rare-earth magnet composed of samarium and cobalt.

It is a strong permanent magnet with high resistance to corrosion, oxidation, demagnetization and resistant to high temperatures.

It is widely used for Applications in which performance is required to be consistent with high temperature; turbomachinery; rotary encoders where it performs the function of magnetic actuator; magnetic-drive pumps for chemical applications, etc.

features

  • Magnets made from alloys of rare earths (Samarium, Cobalt, Iron and traces of other metals)
  • Extremely resistant to demagnetization (high values of Hcj)
  • Strong resistance to corrosion and oxidation
  • Good temperature stability
  • Processable only with diamond cutting tools
  • Possible shapes: cylinders, blocks, segments
